Who Is Lakshmi?
Lady Luck.
Lakshmi or Laxmi is a symbol of wealth and a reminder that beauty, generosity, and spiritual prosperity can flow into every part of life. In yoga, invoking Lakshmi isn’t just about material gain—it’s about living in alignment with grace, purpose, and inner richness.
She dates pre buddhist times
She is often depicted seated on a blooming lotus, surrounded by gold coins and elephants, symbolizing the divine flow of energy and blessings. Lakshmi is the consort of Vishnu, the preserver, and represents the sustaining force of life that supports dharma (right action).
Lakshmi isn’t just a goddess in mythology—she’s a living principle. One that reminds yoga practitioners to embrace abundance as a sacred right, not a guilty pleasure.

Why Lakshmi Matters
Yoga is not just a physical practice—it’s a path to wholeness and self-realization. Lakshmi invites us to expand our understanding of abundance beyond money:

Abundance of energy: Abundance of love: Abundance of time and presence:

She reminds us that its not selfish to receive. It's essential. You cannot serve from an empty cup it's best to serve from the overflow.

Lakshmi and Feminine Power in Yoga
Lakshmi represents Shakti—the creative, nurturing, intuitive force. This energy is honored as the source of all manifestation. When you connect to Lakshmi, you connect to:
The beauty of your own worth, The power of graceful receiving, The balance between effort and surrender. In a world that often glorifies hustle and depletion, Lakshmi teaches the art of sacred being enough, just the way you are.

Laxmi will ask you
Are you keeping your home and your heart clean?
Are you resourced and rested, or constantly depleted?
Are you in relationship with yourself and others from a place of compassion?
Are you living mindfully or racing through life?
Where in your life are you leaking energy?
Where can you receive more fully?

Practice noticing what is already flowing in your life.
You can offer fresh flowers or light a candle on your altar with intention.

Where am I blocking the sweetness of abundance in my life?
What would Lakshmi have me know?
