Facts About Water

• Water is the only element that is found in liquid, gas and solid.

• 70% of the human body is water

• 75% of muscle is water.

• Water is a universal solvent meaning that it dissolves more substance than anything including any plastic bottle.

• Water is a unique as it changes with the energy around it. Dr Emoto shows in detail how affirmations shape the crystals of the water. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masaru_Emoto

Drink, Drink, Drink!

• Good water, the best you can access.

• Do not drink unfiltered tap water ever. It is considered low risk by the FDA so they don’t actually test our water frequently as we need for optimal health.

• Drink spring water when possible, find some by going to: www.findaspring.com

How much water should I drink?

For every pound you weigh, you should drink at least half an ounce. So, if you are 100lbs x .5 = 50oz water/day for optimal hydration. (For perspective, 1 liter of water is about 34oz.)

You will know if you are drinking enough water by taking a quick look at your urine. A pale yellow will indicate that you are hydrated, anything darker could mean you need more H2O!

Bear in mind that color isn’t a perfect indicator of hydration. Urine can be darker from health conditions, medications, supplements, and/or natural pigments in certain foods. (We all have a beet story, don’t we?!)

So, what is the difference between all the types of waters?

Spring water is the best, of course, fresh from mother earth—we call it the sweet water. Untouched by processes, it is fresh and clean.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) describes the process of the treatment of the water. Take water and filter it until there is nothing left in it—nothing! Then we add minerals back into the water that we would find naturally occurring like calcium, not fluoride. Essentially, RO water is dead water, like distilled water—so do not drink it.

Alkaline Water can be alkalized by electrocuting it with titanium plates like the brand Kangen does, or you can spin it. It changes the molecular structure to make the cells of the water smaller so that it can be more easily absorbed. Any water that has been alkalized and then sits begins to lose its alkalinity.

What about coconut water or aloe-infused water?

Coconut water is super hydrating because it has natural electrolytes. Most of the “fresh” coconut drinks that we get in the US are usually spoiled by the time they are imported.

Aloe is also extremely hydrating and ridiculously good for you.

Ideally you would make your own using the natural source—aloe plucked from your garden, but if you are purchasing it pre-made/packaged, be aware of the company you are purchasing from.

A Note About Fluoride (found in tap water)

The National Research Council has stated, “Fluoride is likely to cause decreased melatonin production and have other effects on normal pineal function, which in turn could contribute to a variety of effects in humans.”

The Council also identified a range of health effects that may be associated with fluoride exposure, including damage to the brain, disruption of the endocrine system, the thyroid gland, the pineal gland, and glucose metabolism.
