5 WAYS TO DEFEAT SELF SABOTAGE

Allowing and welcoming the gifts of life to come to me, is a lesson I am always learning. And I feel honored to share my journey with you.

I love to get deep and personal with others, and Iʼm not that great at small talk.  I often feel awkward around new acquaintances and strangers, and a different side of me reveals herself.  My awkwardness blocks me from being my best self, I might say something weird or try too hard to be funny.

Do you ever feel like that?

Well….

Here are the 5 ways that really help me defeat self sabotage and step into the light of who I truly am:

  1. Get in touch with your body. Get up. Sit down. Move, change position. Wiggle do something to change your physical perspective. Maintaining awareness in your body will help you stay present and real.

  2. Count out loud “5-4-3-2-1. I am ok.” As soon as you feel yourself checking out. Just do it. When it comes to being the real you, who cares what other people think.

  3. Remember you are the star of your life! Stop caring what other people think. What they say, do, how they act, has nothing to do with who you are as a person. They are the stars in their life, and you are the star of yours. So make this movie the best one ever, create it, exactly how you want. Do not hesitate, keep reminding yourself!

  4. Forgive yourself for whatever you think you need forgiving for. Remember you can start over right now.  Use the tools you have (breath, movement, etc.), take a big breath and begin again. Just start over. In any moment.

  5. Talk about something that you are really good at. Repeat. Make a decision to remember that you are good at it and Repeat.
